Extra Protection Against Cavities

Sealants provide an extra layer of protection for your child’s teeth, especially in hard-to-reach areas where brushing may not be enough.

The deep grooves and tiny cracks in teeth can easily trap food and bacteria, leading to tooth decay.

How Dental Sealants Work

Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings that are applied to the chewing surfaces of the teeth.

Once bonded, they harden and create a smooth surface over the natural grooves, making it harder for plaque to build up. This makes brushing more effective and helps maintain better overall oral hygiene.

When They Are Applied and How Long They Last

While they are most common on permanent teeth, each child’s needs are different.

Sealants can last between three to five years or longer, but should be checked regularly to ensure they remain intact and continue protecting against decay.
